Janet McGarry

First Canadian Daughter of Bluegrass, Janet McGarry, will be marking her return appearance at the Evangeline Bluegrass Festival with special guests Jeremy & Corrina Stephens from Nashville TN.

Husband and wife duo, Janet McGarry and Serge Bernard, have performed for many years at bluegrass festivals and many other events throughout Eastern Canada and beyond.

Janet is a 5 time “Female Vocalist of the Year” recipient at the Eastern Canadian Bluegrass Music Awards earning her a “Masters” in the category, and she is also a proud “Daughter of Bluegrass”, a group of International leading women in Bluegrass Music.

Serge is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, playing mandolin, guitar, fiddle, dobro, bass and his main instrument of choice – banjo. He is also a co-host of Bluegrass Island, a one-hour bluegrass show which airs Saturday evenings at 6pm on Tantramar Community Radio 107.9FM, and a member of the Canadian Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame.

Husband and wife duo Corrina Rose Logston and Jeremy Stephens are heavily steeped in the sounds of traditional bluegrass and early country music, from heart songs and brother duets of the early Grand Ole Opry era, to lively classic bluegrass tunes, as well as their own original material.

Together, they draw from the same well of traditional bluegrass and mountain style music and are excited to share their love for the history and early sounds of the music with audiences at the Evangeline Bluegrass Festival.
